Letter to the Fallen Heroes of D-Day

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Arms,

Today, we stand united in solemn remembrance to honor you, our courageous fallen, as we mark the anniversary of D-Day. With deep reverence, we recall June 6, 1944, a day when valor and virtue were etched onto the sands of Normandy. Each wave that crashed on those hallowed beaches carried the weight of freedom and the fierce determination of those who dared to reclaim it.

Your bravery transcends time; from the echoes of that fateful day, we draw strength and inspiration. It was on those shores that you, our brothers and sisters, laid down your lives with unwavering courage, ensuring a world free from tyranny for generations to come. You stormed those beaches not for glory, but for a cause greater than oneself, embodying the highest ideals of the United States Marine Corps and the Allied forces.

To our cherished WW2 veterans, those among us and those who have passed, your legacy is our enduring torch. Few of you remain, yet the magnitude of your sacrifices will forever resonate in the hearts of a grateful nation and a liberated world. Your service and dedication, made in the direst of straits, will never go unheard or unseen. We owe you an immeasurable debt of gratitude.

As we observe a moment of silence, let it be filled with the profound respect and gratitude we hold for each of you. Your spirits march on in the ranks of those who continue to serve, guided by your valor and fortified by your loyalty.
